Faust by Goethe follows the journey Faust, a scholar who signs a contract to Mephistopheles which philosophise the vanity and pleasure of life. Through their journey Goethe symbolises human nature represented in characters such as witches, greek gods and fools from history, literature and legend. Faust itself is interpreted in many plays, puppet theatres and films. This cyanotype series loosely follows the narrative of Faust with the symbolic characters reinterpreted in paper cut puppets.
